One more thing finished...

I finished one more thing in February...  a felted tote bag.  I was calling it a purse, but I decided that since it doesn't have a lining, it's really a tote bag.  Now I'm really ready to start some new things!  I've been working on my Falling Leaves socks and have turned both heels.

OK, who can tell me how to make this picture be right side up?

Saturday I went to That'll Do Farm for sit & knit and met their new sheep.  Of course, I also had to take a picture of Joey or he would get jealous.

He liked it when I showed him the display on the camera.

Another Finished Item!

This is going great!  I have finished 3 items for February is for Finishing.  Go me!
This pattern is called River Run.  I made it because Sarah made one at Christmas and I really liked it.  Plus I had this great sock yarn that probably needed to be a scarf.  The picture above is before blocking.
This one is on the blocking mat.  And below is the whole thing.

Another finished thing in February!

This is my second entry in Finish it in February on Life in Cleveland!

They are basic rib socks from Ravelry.  Here's a link to the project page.

I made these socks for Alex because he kept bugging me for socks.  So here they are!  Leave me alone!

The weather is terrible here today so it's a great day to knit instead.  I think I'll work on a scarf for me.

February is for Finishing

So a friend-of-a-friend type of thing got me started following Life In Cleveland.  And she's declared that in February you should Finish the things you already have started.  At first, I thought this didn't really apply to me - I haven't been knitting very long and I don't have many projects on needles.  Then when I went looking I found that I have 3 pairs of socks, a pair of mittens, a handbag, and a scarf in various stages of done-ness. To knitters, not much, right?

To my husband, a crazy amount of things.

Plus, there are those quilted things that aren't done either...

So I decided to jump on the bandwagon!  I updated this blog (does that count as finishing?) so it will be ready for the Next Big Adventure this summer.  (Yosemite and the OR coast.  With my own kid plus a spare 8-year-old.)  And then I finished these:

Very toasty thrummed mittens.  It's hardly been cold here this winter but that's OK.  I also find that you don't want to wear these when you have anything involving dexterity going on.  Unlocking the door is impossible since you can't find a key in your pocket with these monster mitts on.

They're entered in the first week's contest though!  And now to finish some socks...
